This intimate venue faces down Carlton Gardens towards Pall Mall. The elegant entrance hall is floored in green Cumbrian slate and sets the stunning style of this well located venue. Carlton House Terrace has little traffic and the College’s elevation, set back from the Mall, ensures minimal noise in its meeting rooms.  It’s prestigious location, elegant interior and high quality facilities and service make it a perfect venue for conferences, dinners and receptions.

The Royal College of Pathologists is ideally situated in an historic and extremely beautiful part of the capital.  Access by public transport is unrivalled with the College being within walking distance of Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, St James Park, Green Park and Victoria train stations.  Buses on a variety of routes are available in Lower Regents Street and Trafalgar Square.

The College has eight meeting rooms, which are available to hire when not in use on College business. We can accommodate everything from a small intimate working lunch right through to a full conference for formal dinner.

The College's facilities include a large, air-conditioned conference room, a medium sized raked lecture theatre, three medium sized multi-purpose rooms, 3 syndicate meeting rooms, a rare books library and all the relevant support facilities such as a kitchen and secure cloakroom. We also have wireless internet connection, state of the art audio visual facilities that include video and tele-conferencing, podcasting, audio & visual recording plus 150 wireless voting handsets.

The Royal College of Pathologists was founded in 1962 and moved to 2 Carlton House Terrace in 1970.  In that year the College was granted its Royal Charter and Her Majesty the Queen formally opened the building on 10th December.  As one of the Medical Royal Colleges in the United Kingdom, the College is responsible for maintaining standards in medical practice, through training, examinations and continuing development.

The Fleming Room
The Fleming Room overlooks the Mall and St James Park.  It has a built in stage and lectern, state of the art AV & PA facilities including surround sound system an excellent room for fine dining, conferences and receptions.  Also comes with an ante room.

The Pasteur Room
This is a medium sized, multi-purpose room set on the ground floor, suitable for small board meetings.

The Watson & Crick Room
Situated on the 1st Floor overlooking the Mall & St James Park – this room is multi-purpose and includes access to three balconies, a small mezzanine garden and an ante room useful for catering .

The Jenner Room
This room is a 75 fixed seated raked lecture theatre with state of the art audio visual facilities including video conferencing equipment.

Three Syndicate Rooms
These rooms  known as the Muir, Bence Jones & Perutze Rooms can be divided into three rooms (eg. 1, eg. 2, eg. 3) to accommodate 10-12 boardroom style or can be used as one room that can accommodate a maximum of 40 people. They can also be booked for a catering breakout area.

The Virchow Room
This room is an excellent room for board meetings for small conferences with all AV built in the room

Carlton House is a superb building offering an ideal setting for a gentle gathering for a cocktail reception or dinner.

Carlton House is more suited to a gentle party atmosphere for a traditional Christmas dinner or luncheon and sophisticated summer drinks reception.

Summer months allow you the opportunity to take advantage of the balcony  of the Watson & Crick Room, overlooking the Mall, ideal for canapés and drinks receptions.

The Watson & Crick Room also has access to a small courtyard area in the centre of the College where pre dinner drinks can be taken outside on warm summer evenings.
