FAVOURITE FOOD – Anything Mexican. I am a big fan of Nachos and dips! Makes me SO happy. Apart from my love of Mexican, sugar coated sweets or sweets in general are my weakness. The flavoured strips with the sugar on, YUM!
ROLE IN TEAM – I am the Head of Venue Reservations, so I manage the whole department. I lead and support my fabulous team, making sure they are doing their jobs to the best of their ability. I manage and edit the VR website. I make sure the website is updated with new information and our amazing venues we work in partnership with are loaded and presented correctly, upload our weekly blogs and any other maintenance it might need. Just really making sure it looks beautiful and it has all the important information on there. Hannah and I take and answer enquiries from our lovely agents and corporate accounts we work with.
We send off proposals in the speediest of fashion (we are super fast) to ensure we are providing the best customer service to our clients. I account manage and have built relationships with corporate clients, agents and venues to make sure everyone is happy with Venue Reservations and our service. I do all administrative duties for the department, but won’t bore you with all that information but basically I keep this amazing department in shipshape.
IF YOU HAD AN ENDLESS BUDGET, WHAT EVENT WOULD YOU PLAN? – I love all things fashion! I love diving into my monthly subscription to Vogue every month and look forward to it dropping through my post box, so I would event plan the most amazing fashion show for a designer. Ideally Chanel or YSL but I’m not fussy. I’d make sure the location is epic and the perfect setting for the show. I’d design everything; choosing the staging, production and music all the way through to backstage requirements and final touches. Working with the designers themselves to bring their vision to life would be a dream. Managing the guest list and inviting celebrities, I would nominate myself for that task as well.
FAVOURITE FOOD – BBQ CHICKEN FAJITASSSSS, Watermelon Mojito, Lemon Cheesecake for dessert
ROLE IN TEAM – I would say I am the fountain of knowledge and THE chatterbox for all thing venues! Even if I may not find a venue straight away, I will work hard to find the perfect venue suited to the client’s brief. I suppose I can be quite loud in the office, especially if an enquiry I have been working hard on confirms. RING THAT BELL – DING DING!. Themed events excite me and I may jump and wave my hands around if I get a circus themed enquiry! I will be the point of contact for the initial enquiry. I will help my client set up site visits, shortlist venues, create bespoke catering packages and source any additional equipment or entertainment. I absolutely love building relationships with our venues and working with my key agents. Something new and exciting happens every day!
IF YOU HAD AN ENDLESS BUDGET, WHAT EVENT WOULD YOU PLAN? – It would have to be a big secret garden party in a really cool venue with outdoor gardens. I would have a large marquee, Champagne flowing, gin and cocktail bars, delicious canapés, interactive food stations with a forest twist, a jazz band, garden games and have an enchanted forest theme. I would have white poseur tables covered in ivy, with fruit and nut nibbles. I would have trees and bushes covered in fairy lights, stone pillars, statues and dramatic bright flowers. Then there’d be woodland themed ladies on stilts, a crystal ball fortune teller, ice- sculptures, woodland fairies serving the canapés and jugglers keeping guests entertained. As the sun goes down, I would bring atmospheric woodland forest lighting to life – purples, blues and greens with candle light and lanterns. There would be a few live singers and bands for guests to dance the night away.
