Venue Gallery: Chiswick House

Chiswick House

Description:

A glorious example of 18th Century British architecture is found in Chiswick House. The structure was designed by the 3rd Earl of Burlington (18th C), a strong supporter of the Palladian style pioneered by Inigo Jones. Burlington employed William Kent to create the type of interior and exterior found in the suburbs of Rome, which displays pure white walls, while having extravagant interiors. The focal point of the house is the gallery with its beautiful painted and gilded ceiling and the stunning Red, Green and Blue Velvet rooms. Combined with this unique statuary interior are the classical Italian-style gardens, making the entire house a fascinating venue.
