Mind the Gap! Sound of the Underground

When organising an event, there are so many decisions to consider. As you probably already know, choosing the venue is the decision that will impact your event the most.
When our clients begin the shortlisting process for venues, I have noticed three key points in the selection process: cost, venue layout and location. I have seen that my clients prefer to keep the venue costs down to allow more room in the budget for catering and entertainment. Believe it or not, breakfast muffins and bakery baskets go a long way! The layout and flow of the venue has also impacted the selection process – registration space, catering space, breakout rooms and office space all need to be relatively close within the venue. Venue location has been found to be the choice that has affected shortlisting most. London venues near trains or close to a tube station or other transport links attract more attendees and makes them more likely to travel. I have found that venues close to Tube stations influence the client’s decision more to choose that venue. If location and transport access was the deciding factor for me, I have 5 venues that would work be perfect for your event when easy connection is key.
Venue For 300 near Temple Station – Two Temple Place (Circle and District lines)
Temple Station is located at Victoria Embankment in the City of Westminster, on the Circle and District lines and sits on fare zone 1. Situated a five minute walk away, lies the beautiful Two Temple Place, one of London’s most prestigious venues for private dining. The house is made up of the Great Hall, The Library, The Lower Gallery and several smaller additional rooms. The whole house is exclusively yours and can hold 300 guests at any one time.
Middle Temple – venue for 500 by the river
A further 5 minute walk from Two Temple Place we have Middle Temple, located in the heart of London’s legal quarter. Middle Temple is one of four ancient Inns of Court. Overlooking the River Thames with stunning gardens and dramatic backdrops, the venue is the picture-perfect location to host summer parties, corporate receptions and Christmas dinners. The venue can hold up to 500 guests for a standing reception.
Venues near London Liverpool Street Station
One of the busiest stations in London provides a central railway terminus with connections for London Underground and Stansted Airport. An 8 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of this station lies a beautiful 11th century church called 78 Bishopsgate.
The main nave of the venue has impressive high ceilings which creates the perfect setting for Christmas and meetings. It also has a beautiful outdoor space for summer and a permanent Bedouin Tent to relax in. Seasoned can cater for up to 60 guests for a private dinner and 120 reception using the entire venue. This little hidden gem has only a few dates left for Christmas due to its prime location. Contact us at Venue Reservations for more availability over the festive period; if you’re not fast you’re most definitely last!
Event venues near Westminster (Circle, District, Jubilee lines)
Westminster Underground Station in the City of Westminster is served by the Circle, District and Jubilee lines with the world famous Downing Street and the London Eye close by. A short walk from one of the most famous stations in London is Central Hall Westminster. As central London’s largest conference venue, the building enjoys a prime location opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The historical style of the venue has impressive marble flooring and 25 event rooms on offer! There are meeting rooms which are small enough for 5 delegates plus conference and exhibition facilities for up to 1,000 guests! The venue can also host standing concerts in the Great Hall for up to 2,039 guests, Impressive! Not only is Westminster Station around the corner, there is also Victoria, Charing Cross and Waterloo stations all within a 20 minute walk. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are also easily accessible for any overseas guests. If location is of highest importance to your event, then this historical conference and dinner venue is perfect.
Intimate event venue near Hyde Park (Piccadilly line) – for up to 75
Hyde Park Corner Station is adjacent to the iconic Wellington Arch. This is one of my favourite venues for hosting smaller numbers. The station itself is placed in zone 1 between Knightsbridge and Green Park on the Piccadilly line. With views of Buckingham Palace one way and the green grass of Hyde Park on the other, Wellington Arch offers something unique for elegant dining and entertaining guests. Set over two floors at the top of the Arch, the Quadriga Gallery is a contemporary space which can accommodate a versatile range of events including conferences.
Although the venue is a tourist attraction by day, the venue can be exclusively yours, breakfast, daytime or evening holding 75 standing guests at any one time. This iconic venue will give any corporate event a real sense of historic occasion and “wow” factor. Not only is the venue directly across from the Tube station, when you enter this landmark your guests will instantly be experiencing the history and culture of this country and its magnificent capital city.
Remember, convenience is key! The closer your venue is to any major transportation hubs in the city, the better. As mentioned a venue close to a major train line means it will be significantly easier for international guests and guests based in the city and know how long it will take them door to door.
