Description:
Barber Surgeons' Hall has been the home of the Worshipful Company of Barbers since 1430 although the Company can trace it roots to 1308. The Hall is a wonderfully peaceful venue, tucked away from the bustle of the City in the private and tranquil Monkwell Square. Although a modern building, the Hall is steeped in history and is the home to a range of magnificent paintings including the famous portrait of Henry VIII by Hans Holbein. The Great Hall, in which the painting hangs, is a spacious and gracious room which is flooded with natural daylight and opens onto an outdoor terrace: it is ideal for conferences, dinners or receptions. The adjoining Reception Room is predominantly used for pre-lunch or dinner receptions but can be used as a smaller, more intimate dining area. In addition there are two smaller rooms which are ideal for breakout areas or for use by VIPs.
